SHAREPLACE

2018-01-08

SHAREPLACE (Shared mobility and Regional transport integrated Planning for a better connected Central Europe) is a project within the framework of Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE, running from June 2017 until May 2020.

Transport systems in Central Europe often show a lack of integration between modes of transport, resulting in weak local, regional and transnational accessibility. Disparities in appropriate connections within and among centres of urbanization often contribute to an unbalanced territorial development.

The overall goal of SHAREPLACE is to develop an innovative approach to improve the connectivity of local, regional and transnational mobility systems. SHAREPLACE will be open to all types of passenger transport services and target groups. Initial development and testing will be carried out in six pilot regions: Bologna, Crema, Fuschlsee-Mondseeland (FUMO), Osijek, Ulm and Zalaegerszeg. By implementing living labs and actively engaging stakeholders, transferable solutions for a more integrated, accessible and harmonized mobility system in six central European regions will be designed. These solutions will be supported by innovative business models and strategic guidelines for policymakers and planners.

As the leader of thematic work package 3, Mobilissimus is responsible for the coordination of professional support and tracking of the pilot projects. In addition, Mobilissimus provides professional supports for the City of Zalaegerszeg in the preparation and implementation of the pilot project of the Zalaegerszeg pilot region. Within the project, demand-responsive transport services can be tested to integrate the more remote and sparsely populated neighbourhoods into the local public transport system and the main bus and train stations; as well as car-pooling points connected to public transport stations, supporting the alternative mobility based on shared solutions, and improving the accessibility and cooperation of local and regional transport systems.

During the project, we aim to implement solutions, which contribute to the improving liveability of the city and effectiveness of the transport system, focusing on the development of sustainable mobility. For this reason Mobilissimus - similarly to the other project partmers - builds strongly on the involvement of relevant stakeholders (residents, local professional associations, NGOs, city and regional level decision makers, mobility providers) in the planning process.

The project is supported by the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme funded under the European Regional Development Fund.
