Survey of cycling tourism routes in the framework of the EcoVeloTour project

In the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme EcoVeloTour project (project ID: DTP2-055-2.2) 2500 km of cycling tourism routes were surveyed according to the European Certification Standard (ECS) methodology of the European Cyclists' Federation (ECF).

The survey was carried out in Hungary and along connected cycle tourism routes:

  • EuroVelo 6 (Ipolydamásd – Budapest [M0])
  • EuroVelo 11 (Tiszadob – Szeged – Kovin [Serbia] / Baranda [Serbia])
  • EuroVelo 13 (Sopron – Letenye, Barcs - Srpska Crnja [Serbia]) – North Banat Route (Voivoda Stepa [Serbia] – Vršac [Serbia]) – Moravița [Romania/Serbia border] – -Banatska Palanka [Serbia]
  • EuroVelo 14 (Szentgotthárd – Velence, Gödöllő – Tiszafüred)
  • Cycle Route no. 13. (Fertőd – Keszthely)
  • Cycle Route no. 24. (Győr – Balatonfüred)
  • Makó – Hódmezővásárhely
  • Somló-Marcalmente-Bakonyalja regional cycle network (Somlóvásárhely - Pápa - Újmajor - Pannonhalma/Városlőd)

Information on road quality of the routes and of touristic relevance was collected using a mobile application. Data on road quality and signposting were recorded for the routes. Photo documentation of the related tourist points was made in addition to recording relevant information.
