Cycling strategy adpoted by the Assembly of Bács-Kiskun County

At its meeting on 30 June 2023, the Bács-Kiskun County Assembly unanimously adopted the Bács-Kiskun County Cycling Strategy - County Cycling Network Plan.

The aim of the county cycling network plan is to assess the situation of cycling in the region and its surroundings: the existing network and its condition, cycling traffic, cyclability, obstacles to cycling, missing elements of the network and, on this basis, to propose improvements to be implemented. The main objective is to establish the priorities for development in the region; to examine how the cycling network will develop in the area.

With this strategy, Bács-Kiskun County aims to set the direction for the stakeholders involved in the development of bicycle-friendly infrastructure and bicycle tourism. By rethinking the objectives and designing the directions of development in Bács-Kiskun County, it intends to provide the complex conditions necessary for bicycle mobility and cycling tourism on the long term. Thoughtful planning of measures and the development of a coherent network is the most effective way to use development funds.

It is based on the County Cycling Strategy, pioneered by Mobilissimus in 2018 on the initiative of the County and adopted by the General Assembly in January 2019, updated as necessary in the light of the time passed and supplemented according to the methodological guidelines issued since then.

The adopted plan is available at the county website.
