The BicApp cycling tour recommendation and planning application is based in part on the OpenStreetMap (OSM) map database. Field surveys were conducted on behalf of the Active Hungary Development Center (AMFK), and the results were recorded in the form of gpx tracks and survey logs. Based on these, AMFK staff updated the OSM data for the relevant routes.
Building on Mobilissimus's experience in cycling route surveying and data collection and processing, the work was supported with professional advice, assistance, and debugging as follows:
- Training and support for data uploaders on the principles and methods of OSM editing;
- Debugging incorrectly recorded survey data;
- Identifying OpenStreetMap editing errors and supporting error correction;
- Supporting communication with the OpenStreetMap community;
- Documenting the tagging scheme agreed with the OpenStreetMap community on the OSM Wiki.
