Dynaxibility4CE announced as ‘Regio Star Award’ finalist

Dynaxibility4CE is a finalist of the RegioStar Awards of 2023, which awards exceptional projects in several categories, based on the selection criteria of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy.

It identifies good practices in regional development and highlights innovative, EU-funded projects that will inspire other stakeholders and project managers. Along four other finalists, Dynaxibility4CE was selected in the category ‘connected Europe’, which includes best practices related to mobility, as well as elements of digitalisation and cross-border cooperation.

The selection procedure for the RegioStar Award will be selected in a final round of project pitches during the EU Regions’ Week. Furthermore, citizens are able to vote for their favourite project once the vote for the audience award will open in autumn.

What is the Regio Star Award?
The award has a long history of showcasing exceptional EU-funded projects, as it is awarded for the 16th time in 2023. All projects of cohesion funds, social funds and Interreg funds were allowed to participate. In the framework of the Regio Star award, the European Commission awards cohesion fund projects with exceptional approaches concerning regional cooperation and development in the categories of ‘competitive and smart Europe’, ‘connected Europe’, ‘a Europe closer to the citizens’, ‘a green Europe’, ‘a social and inclusive Europe, as well as projects related to the ‘European Year of Skills’, which is the topic of the year. Once the public vote and the pitches will have taken place, the award will be announced in a dedicated ceremony in the Czech city of Ostrava in mid-November.

Who will vote for the winner?
A panel of high-ranking scientists from the respective fields of the previously mentioned categories will evaluate the applications and select the finalists. Then, representatives of the finalist projects are invited a final round of pitches, which will take place during the European Week of Regions and

European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels in mid-October. In addition, citizens have the opportunity to vote for their favourite project for the audience award.
