The aim of the Csongrád-Csanád County Cycling Strategy is to assess the situation of cycling in the county and its surroundings, and based on this to propose improvements to be implemented during the 2021-2027 programming period, in order to enable more people to choose cycling as a means of everyday transport and leisure, and to put the county on the map of cycling tourism. However, its horizon extends beyond the next programming cycle and proposes a long-term vision for the core cycling network.
With the cycling strategy, Csongrád-Csanád County intends to provide guidance and support for the preparation of development projects to create a coherent main cycling network at county level, including the two cities with county rights, Szeged and Hódmezővásárhely.
The strategy has been prepared in accordance with the structure and content requirements set out in the guide "Proposed Structure for County Cycling Network Plans". The document is strategic (it does not cover the development of specific projects) and county-wide in scope. It deals with cycling for everyday mobility, for leisure and tourism.
