Together the New European Bauhaus community

2024-03-07

On 17 and 18 January 2024, the New European Bauhaus community gathered in Barcelona. The annual event brings together a wide range of stakeholders from start-ups, projects from various calls for proposals and representatives of the European Commission.

On the first afternoon of the two-day programme, the participants met at the MACBA contemporary art museum, where they were given a guided individual tour of the current exhibition. This was followed by an informal introduction.

On the morning of 18 January, the group continued to work together to find common ground, learn from each other and deepen the values of the New European Bauhaus. Through various interactive exercises, we got to know each other's ideas. Each project was at a different stage of completion, which allowed for an effective exchange of experiences between representatives of the initiatives.

In addition to start-up difficulties, similarities were also found between the uncertainties faced during the implementation of projects, while successful innovative businesses also shared their views on market entry. Measuring impact and actively involving the public are challenges for most initiatives. Therefore, sharing experiences in these areas proved particularly useful. The dynamic workshops also provided an opportunity to develop public speaking skills to help us communicate our project effectively in the future. Using the storytelling methodology, we worked in small groups on stories about our project.
